NOTE FROM JONNY

Hello Curious Human πŸ‘‹

Welcome to Issue 89!

Today is an exciting day at the Curious Humans HQ β€” months of work and creative juju have been lovingly poured into redesigning the Nervous System Mastery website (v2.0)

I'll keep the intro brief, but suffice it to say that I feel proud of how it's turned out, and hope that others resonate with the new designs as much as I do (check it out here)

For the past couple of years, this course has been my full-time project (also financially supporting this newsletter & podcast) β€” and I feel fired up by the mission of spreading nervous system literacy into mainstream culture.

Thank you for the ongoing support.

Stay regulated out there,

Jonny

MAY YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM BE FOREVER REGULATED

Enrolment Doors for Nervous System Mastery Cohort #6 Are Open! (Oct 7 β€” Nov 9)

For the last few months, we've been working on revamping the website (Nervous System Mastery 2.0) and creating a home that I hope reflects what is truly a world-class curriculum.

This course is for anyone looking to cultivate calm, build greater resilience or reduce the half-life of their reactive tendencies.

We now have 1000+ self-aware and inwardly curious students in our alumni community β€” many of whom have transformed their lives by taking (sometimes 4+ times) this immersive learning experience.

β€œI can safely say this course is the single best investment I’ve made in my health and wellbeing. It almost feels like I’ve unlocked cheat codes for the game of life.

NEW EPISODE JUST DROPPED

[Podcast] The Longing to Belong with Jerry Colonna

I had an in-person conversation with the co-founder of Reboot, Jerry Colonna. Jerry is one of the most infamous executive coaches in the world β€” with a reputation for making CEOs cry and asking devastatingly poignant self-reflection questions.

β€œWhat do I need to give up that I love, in order to have the systems of belonging that I want?”

β€” Jerry Colonna

In this conversation, you can expect to learn:

- Jerry's inner journey discovering his mythopoetic identity and how that has informed the coaching work he is so known for.

- The idea that one measure of a leader is the numerous of people who feel safe enough to belong.

- The root causes of the global intimacy disorder that our culture is experiencing.

- The very human tension between longing and belonging that we all experience on some deep level.

MORE FUN STUFF TO CLICK ON

Et. Cetera

Underrated Philosophy: I think Georges Ivanovitch Gurdjieff might be the most underrated philosopher of the last century. Layman Pascal described him brilliantly in this book as a cross between Indiana Jones, the Buddha, and Borat. Precisely the refreshing flavor of trickster wisdom missing from today’s vanilla approach to human development. Read.

Write Better with AI: The team at Every is hosting a course on How to Write with AI. As someone who has been increasingly impressed with what is possible (especially from Claude) I'm excited for this. Explore.

Flaming Hot Speculations: Theoretical neuroscientist Mike Johnson was recently interviewed on his thoughts on the biological mechanisms for Jhanas and how trauma is stored in the body. I'm speaking with him on Thursday for the podcast, but this episode is a super primer. Listen.

Where Are We Heading? A deep dive interview with the wise and increasingly bearded sensemaking prophet Daniel Schmachtenberger in a conversation aptly titled 'A Vision for Betterment.' Watch.

Illustration by Blaze Syka NOTE FROM JONNY β€” Hello Curious Human πŸ‘‹ Welcome to Issue #93! Plenty of updates from the Curious Humans HQ β€” I've been making progress on an exciting iOS app that we'll be launching soon, Kelly and I may have found a new rental house in Santa Cruz to move into in November (walking distance from a world-class surf break!), and we'll also be hosting our first breathwork retreat later this year in California. Exciting times! This week, I'm sharing a fantastic video...

Illustration by Blaze Syka NOTE FROM JONNY β€” Hello Curious Human πŸ‘‹ Welcome to Issue #92! I just wrapped up a mind-bending podcast with the theoretical neuroscientist Michael Edward Johnson, which I'm very excited to release in the coming weeks... But in the meantime, I'm thrilled to be publishing both video #3 in the new Youtube series β€” a deep dive on interoception (see below), as well as one hell of a podcast conversation with fellow somatic explorer River Kenna. Have a wonderful week and...

Illustration by Blaze Syka NOTE FROM JONNY β€” Hello Curious Human πŸ‘‹ Welcome to Issue #91! I've just returned from my first time at Burning Man, feeling both suitably sleep-deprived (not to mention covered in playa dust) but also deeply nourished by the almost unfathomable creative expression that exists in Black Rock City. I was especially moved by the 'Temple Space', an exquisitely designed temporary structure with every inch of space covered with photos and messages to loved ones who have...
